A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5045 AS INTRODUCED 10-6-11

The bill would amend the Michigan Memorial Highway Act to designate the portion of US-24 beginning at the intersection of US-24 and Van Born Road in the city of Taylor and continuing south to the intersection of US-24 and Pennsylvania Road as the "Corporal Matthew Edwards Memorial Highway."

FISCAL IMPACT:

Section 2 of the Michigan Memorial Highway Act indicates that the State Transportation Department shall only provide for the erection of suitable markers indicating the name of the highway "when sufficient private contributions are received to completely cover the cost of erecting and maintaining those markers." As a result, the bill has no state or local fiscal impact.
