A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5136 AS INTRODUCED 11-1-11

House Bill 5136 would amend several sections of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act to allow for recreational vehicle title and registration applications to be filed electronically. 

The bill would require the application for a certificate of number to include a certification and specify that if applications are filed electronically, the applicant must provide information requested by the Secretary of State to verify the owner's identity.

FISCAL IMPACT:

House Bill 5136 would have no fiscal impact on the Secretary of State.  The bill would allow for recreational vehicle title and registration applications to be filed electronically.  This service upgrade was part of the Secretary of State Business Application Modernization upgrades.  The bill would amend statute to correspond with technological upgrades at the Secretary of State.
