A bill to amend 1965 PA 198, entitled
"Motor vehicle accident claims act,"
by amending section 2 (MCL 257.1102).
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 2. As used in this act:
(a) "Secretary" means the secretary of state acting as
director of the fund.
(b) "Treasurer" means the state treasurer acting as the
custodian of the fund.
(c) "Fund" means the motor vehicle accident claims fund.
(d) "Uninsured motor vehicle" means a motor vehicle as to
which
there is not in force a liability policy meeting that meets
the
requirements of section 3009 of Act No. 218 of the Public Acts
of
1956, as added, being section 500.3009 of the Compiled Laws of
1948,
the insurance code of 1956,
1956 PA 218, MCL 500.3009, and
which
that is not owned by a holder of self-insurance as
provided
in
section 531 of Act No. 300 of the Public Acts of 1949, as
amended,
being section 257.531 of the Compiled Laws of 1948.3101d
of the insurance code of 1956, 1956 PA 218, MCL 500.3101d.
(e) "Person" includes natural persons, firms, copartnerships,
associations, and
corporations, except the this
state or any an
agency
or political subdivision thereof of this state. The word
"person"
shall Person does not include any a municipal
corporation
or
any a corporation owned or operated by the this state
or any a
political
subdivision thereof.of
this state.
Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect January
1, 2013.
