A bill to amend 1961 PA 236, entitled
"Revised judicature act of 1961,"
(MCL 600.101 to 600.9947) by adding section 916a.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 916a. It is not a violation of section 916 for an
individual to bring an action or appear in court on behalf of a
landlord in an action under section 5714 if the individual has
direct personal knowledge of the facts in dispute and is 1 of the
following:
(a) If the landlord is a legal entity other than a sole
proprietorship, a partner in or officer or member of the landlord.
(b) A rental property manager serving under a written
agreement with the landlord.
(c) An employee or relative of the landlord.
