CONTENT

Both bills would amend the Michigan Election Law relative to the date of the presidential primary election.

Senate Bill 1159 (S-1) would require a statewide presidential primary election to be conducted on the third Tuesday in March in each presidential election year, rather than on the fourth Tuesday in February as currently required.

Senate Bill 1160 (S-1) specifies that, although the February regular election date is the fourth Tuesday in February, in each presidential election year when a statewide presidential primary is held, the February regular election date would be the third Tuesday in March.

The bills are tie-barred.
