WINE AUCTION LICENSEE H.B. 4683 (S-1):
SUMMARY OF BILL
REPORTED FROM COMMITTEE
House Bill 4683 (Substitute S-1 as reported)
Sponsor: Representative David Nathan
House Committee: Regulatory Reform
Senate Committee: Regulatory Reform
CONTENT
The bill would amend the Michigan Liquor Control Code to delete a reference to registration requirements for auctioneers under Article 29 of the Occupational Code.
The Michigan Liquor Control Code authorizes the Liquor Control Commission to issue a wine auction license to certain people. The Code specifies that a person holding a wine auction license is not required to demonstrate compliance with the registration requirements of Article 29 of the Occupational Code. House Bill 4683 (S-1) would delete that provision.
The bill is tie-barred to Senate Bills 476 and 477 and to House Bill 4684. Senate Bill 476 would repeal Article 29 of the Occupational Code. Senate Bill 477 would repeal Section 28 of the State License Fee Act, which establishes various fees for individuals registered or seeking registration as an auctioneer. House Bill 4684 would amend the definition of "dealer" in Part 821 (Snowmobiles) of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act to delete a reference to an auctioneer as defined in Article 29 of the Occupational Code.
