HOUSE BILL No. 5781

     A bill to amend 1846 RS 2, entitled

"Of the legislature,"

by amending section 4 (MCL 4.84); and to repeal acts and parts of

acts.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

     Sec. 4. The oath of office of any member or officer of the

senate or house of representatives , may be administered by, and

taken and subscribed before, the chancellor, secretary of the

senate, the clerk of the house of representatives, any justice of

the supreme court, the lieutenant governor, the president pro

tempore of the senate, or the speaker of the house of

representatives.

     Enacting section 1. Section 6 of 1877 PA 67, MCL 4.46, is

repealed.
