A bill to require certain public officials to take statewide
tests mandated for public school students; and to require public
posting of the result.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 1. (1) This act shall be known and may be cited as the
"mandatory public school test validation act".
(2) As used in this act:
(a) "Public officer" means all of the following:
(i) A member of the state board of education.
(ii) The state superintendent of education.
(iii) The governor.
(iv) A member of the senate.
(v) A member of the house of representatives.
(b) "Required assessment test" means a test mandated by this
state for public school students in the third, eighth, or eleventh
grade.
(3) Each public officer shall take each required assessment
test under conditions established by and under supervision of an
independent testing agency. The test results shall be posted on the
public website of the department of education and shall remain
accessible for 1 year or longer.
