ERIC C. POST MEMORIAL HIGHWAY

House Bill 5381 as introduced

Sponsor:  Rep. Henry Yanez

Committee:  Transportation and Infrastructure

Complete to 4-25-16

SUMMARY:

The bill would amend the Michigan Memorial Highway Act to designate a portion of highway M-53 in the city of Sterling Heights, beginning at the intersection of Highway M-53 and 14 Mile Road, and extending north to the intersection of Highway M-53 and Highway M-59, as the "Eric C. Post Memorial Highway."

Proposed MCL 250.1007a

FISCAL IMPACT:

Section 2 of the Michigan Memorial Highway Act indicates that the State Transportation Department shall only provide for the erection of suitable markers indicating the name of the highway "when sufficient private contributions are received to completely cover the cost of erecting and maintaining those markers."  As a result, the bill has no state or local fiscal impact.
