     A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled

"Natural resources and environmental protection act,"

by amending section 74206 (MCL 324.74206), as added by 1995 PA 58.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

     Sec. 74206. A person who violates this part is guilty of a

misdemeanor, punishable by imprisonment for not more than 90 days,

or a fine of not more than $100.00 and costs of prosecution, or

both, responsible for a state civil infraction and may be ordered

to pay a civil fine of not more than $500.00, and, in addition, is

liable for any costs incurred by the department in cleaning up the

campsite of the person, which liability shall be recoverable in any

court of competent jurisdiction in this state.

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days

after the date it is enacted into law.
