A bill to amend 1939 PA 280, entitled
"The social welfare act,"
(MCL 400.1 to 400.119b) by adding section 57cc.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 57cc. (1) In addition to any other reason a family may be
offered payment assistance under the child development and care
program, payment assistance shall be offered when a parent is
unable to provide child care due to his or her attending law
school, medical school, or graduate school.
(2) The activities described in subsection (1) shall be
approved activities under the child development and care program
and are in addition to any activities that are currently approved
activities under that program.
Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days
after the date it is enacted into law.
