AN ACT to amend 1931 PA 328, entitled “An act to revise, consolidate, codify, and add to the statutes relating to crimes; to define crimes and prescribe the penalties and remedies; to provide for restitution under certain circumstances; to provide for the competency of evidence at the trial of persons accused of crime; to provide immunity from prosecution for certain witnesses appearing at criminal trials; to provide for liability for damages; and to repeal certain acts and parts of acts inconsistent with or contravening any of the provisions of this act,” by amending section 13 (MCL 750.13); and to repeal acts and parts of acts.

The People of the State of Michigan enact:

Sec. 13. A person who takes or entices away a minor under the age of 16 years from the minor’s father, mother, guardian, or other person having the legal charge of the minor, without their consent, for the purpose of prostitution, concubinage, sexual intercourse, or marriage is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 10 years.

Enacting section 1. All of the following acts and parts of acts are repealed:

(a) Section 114 of the Michigan code of military justice of 1980, 1980 PA 523, MCL 32.1114.

(b) The John C. Hertel toxic substance control commission act, 1978 PA 116, MCL 286.181 to 286.194.

(c) The hazardous substances act, 1965 PA 188, MCL 286.451 to 286.462.

(d) 1965 PA 280, MCL 287.571 to 287.582.

(e) Section 51508 of the natural resources and environmental protection act, 1994 PA 451, MCL 324.51508.

(f) Sections 34, 35, 36, 37, 39, 52, 97, 172, 173, 173a, 203, 319, 320, 337, 501, 541, 542, and 543 of the Michigan penal code, 1931 PA 328, MCL 750.34, 750.35, 750.36, 750.37, 750.39, 750.52, 750.97, 750.172, 750.173, 750.173a, 750.203, 750.319, 750.320, 750.337, 750.501, 750.541, 750.542, and 750.543.

(g) 1937 PA 269, MCL 752.651 to 752.652.

Enacting section 2. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days after the date it is enacted into law.

This act is ordered to take immediate effect.
