SUMMARY:
Senate Bill 239 would amend Public Act 12 of 1925 (which pertains to state trunk line highways) to specify the following:
The title to a portion of a state trunk line highway that is located in a county with a population of more than 9,000 but less than 9,700 and that was approved for abandonment by a county road commission on January 15, 1968, and approved for abandonment by the State Administrative Board on May 7, 1968, vests in the county that has jurisdiction over that portion as of the date of abandonment.
(The bill is said to apply to a controversy over the ownership of property in Alger County.)[1]
The bill would take effect 90 days after being enacted into law.
