CONTENT

 

The bill would amend the Michigan Memorial Highway Act to designate the portion of highway M-59 located within Livingston County as the "Candice Dunn Memorial Highway".

 

The bill would take effect 90 days after it was enacted.

BACKGROUND

 

Candice Dunn died in a crash on May 9, 2017, while returning from the Michigan Department of Corrections Employee Appreciation banquet, where she received a special honor. Ms. Dunn was the Department's 2017 Parole/Probation Agent of the Year, and a 12-year veteran with the Department who worked in the Eastern District Probation Office, Troy Probation Office as a Drug Court Agent in Wayne County. Ms. Dunn also was a criminal justice instructor at South University in Novi. The crash occurred on M-59 in Livingston County.
