CONTENT
The bill would amend the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act to change the "recreation passport fee" to the "Senator Patty Birkholz recreation passport fee".
Under the Act, "recreation passport fee" means a State park and State-operated public boating access site recreation passport fee paid under Section 805 of the Michigan Vehicle Code or under rules promulgated under Section 74120(2). (Section 805 of the Vehicle Code prescribes the fee to be paid for a recreation passport. For a motor vehicle, the fee is $10, for a motorcycle, the fee is $5. Section 74120(2) allows the Department of Natural Resources to promulgate rules to provide a method for an individual whose vehicle registration expires annually to pay the passport fee.) The bill would rename "recreation passport fee" to the "Senator Patty Birkholz recreation passport fee".
