CONTENT
The bill would amend the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act to prohibit a zoning ordinance from regulating or barring a sign that was located on or within a building that commemorated certain emergency service members or United States military members who died, or veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
Specifically, a zoning ordinance could not regulate or prohibit a sign that was located on or within a building and that commemorated any of the following:
-- Any of the following who died in the line of duty: police officers, firefighters, medical first responders, members of the United States Armed Forces, or corrections officers.
-- Veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
The bill would take effect 90 days after its enactment.
