A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled
"Michigan election law,"
by amending sections 265 and 830 (MCL 168.265 and 168.830); and to
repeal acts and parts of acts.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 265. Every person elected to the office of county road
commissioner,
before entering upon the duties of his the office,
shall
must take and subscribe to the oath as provided in
section 1
of
article 11 XI of the state constitution of 1963,
and shall must
give
bond in the amount and manner prescribed by law, and shall
must
deposit said the oath
with the county clerk and said the
bond
with
the board of county auditors. In counties having no county
auditors,
the bond shall be deposited with the county
treasurer.
Sec. 830. Each county canvasser and county clerk shall receive
such
reasonable compensation for services performed pursuant to the
provisions
of under this act as shall be is allowed
by the county
board
of supervisors or county auditors, commissioners, which
compensation
shall must be paid out of the treasury of the county.
Enacting section 1. Sections 221 to 241 of the Michigan
election law, 1954 PA 116, MCL 168.221 to 168.241, are repealed.
Enacting section 2. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days
after the date it is enacted into law.
Enacting section 3. This amendatory act does not take effect
unless all of the following bills of the 99th Legislature are
enacted into law:
