CONTENT
The bill would amend the Michigan Vehicle Code to modify a requirement that the driver of an overtaken vehicle give way to the right in favor of an overtaking vehicle on audible signal by deleting a reference to the audible signal.
The Michigan Vehicle Code prescribes certain rules that govern the overtaking and passing of vehicles proceeding in the same direction. Among other rules, the driver of an overtaken vehicle must give way to the right in favor of the overtaking vehicle on audible signal and may not increase the speed of his or her vehicle until completely passed by the overtaking vehicle. The bill would delete the reference to an audible signal.
The bill would take effect 90 days after its enactment.
