A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled

"Michigan election law,"

(MCL 168.1 to 168.992) by adding section 767a.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 767a. If an elector's absent voter ballot is received by the city or township clerk after the close of the polls or if an elector's absent voter ballot is rejected for any reason described in section 767, the city or township clerk who retains and preserves that ballot shall, no later than 30 days after the election results are certified, mail a postcard notice to that elector indicating both of the following:

(a) That the elector's absent voter ballot was not counted.

(b) The reason the elector's absent voter ballot was not counted.
