A bill to amend 1976 PA 39, entitled
"An act to authorize local units of government to appropriate funds for purposes of providing activities or services to older persons, to authorize local units of government to levy taxes for services to older persons, and to repeal certain acts and parts of acts,"
by amending section 4 (MCL 400.574).
the people of the state of michigan enact:
Sec. 4. (1) The appropriations of funds for services to an older person shall must be approved by the majority of the members of the governing body of the local unit of government. The terms of the appropriation shall be are a matter of public record and shall be entered into the journal of the official proceedings of the governing body.
(2) Notification Before January 1, 2022, notification of an appropriation to a private organization shall must be published in a newspaper of general circulation within 10 days following approval by the governing body. The notice shall must specify the terms of appropriation as required by this act. Beginning January 1, 2022, notification of an appropriation to a private organization must be posted as provided in the local government public notice act within 10 days following the date of the approval by the governing body and must specify the terms of the appropriation as required by this act.
Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take effect unless Senate Bill No.____ or House Bill No. 6440 (request no. 02449'19) of the 100th Legislature is enacted into law.
