A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled
"Public health code,"
(MCL 333.1101 to 333.25211) by adding section 21528.
the people of the state of michigan enact:
Sec. 21528. (1) If an individual alleges to a physician or other member of the attending or admitting staff of a hospital that the individual has been the victim of an assaultive crime, the attending health care personnel responsible for examining or treating the individual shall provide the individual with information orally and in writing regarding the availability of counseling services through public agencies in the area in which the hospital is located.
(2) As used in this section, "assaultive crime" means that term as defined in section 9a of chapter X of the code of criminal procedure, 1927 PA 175, MCL 770.9a.
