CONTENT

 

The bill would amend the Michigan Employment Security Act to specify that an individual would have to register for work with a Michigan Works agency after the individual applied for benefits and within the time period prescribed by the Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA) to be eligible to receive them.

FISCAL IMPACT

 

The bill would have no fiscal impact on State or local government. As of May 31, 2021, the UIA reinstated a requirement that UIA claimants engage in seeking work through Michigan Works.
