CONTENT

 

The bill would amend the Revised School Code to do the following:                     

 

 --   Encourage the board of a school district or board of directors of a public school academy (PSA), beginning with the 2023-2024 school year, to ensure that the district's or PSA's social studies curriculum for grades 9 to 12 included instruction in free enterprise and entrepreneurship.

 --   Specify that the program of instruction would have to be project-based and could provide instruction on any of the subjects listed in the bill, including business vocabulary and business basics, e.g., taxes for businesses.

 

The bill would take effect 90 days after enactment.
