BRIEF RATIONALE
Senior Chief Petty Officer (CPO) Jason P. May was born and raised in Chesterfield Township. He served in the United States Navy for 18 years. On June 29, 2015, May was deployed aboard the U.S.S. Essex, an amphibious assault ship that served in part of Operation Enduring Freedom, when he experienced chest pains and collapsed. He passed away at the age of 38. To honor his service and sacrifice, it has been suggested that a portion of M-3 in his hometown be named after Senior CPO May.
